Picking The Right Dog Kennel Cage Size

Picking your dogs’ kennel cage size can be quite difficult and it depends on the use of the cage e.g for travelling, sleeping etc.

The following sizing recommendations and breed examples are intended to give very general idea. So when picking a dog kennel cage please size according to the size of your dog as all dogs can vary in different ways. Essentially the cage needs to be big enough to at the very least lie down, stand up and turn around.

24 – 30 lb,  ( Chihuahua ),  L; 18″  H; 11″

30 – 38 lb,  ( Shih Tzu ),  L; 20″  H; 14″

38 – 50 lb,  ( Cocker Spaniel ),  L; 21″  H; 16″

50 – 60 lb,  ( Beagle ),  L; 24″  H; 20″

60 – 80 lb,  ( Dalmatian ),  L; 30″  H; 23″

80 – 100 lb,  ( Alaskan Malamute ),  L; 33″  H; 26″

100 – 150 lb,  ( Akita ),  L; 38″  H; 29″

150 – 180 lb,  ( Newfoundland ),  L; 42″  H; 32″
